One of my favorite things to do in the summertime when we went to visit my Grandma’s was to run out and get a special treat when the icecream truck went by. So, when Stampin’ Up released the Tasty Truck Stamp Set (now retired), I just KNEW it had to be for my summertime calendar!
This is such a fun little truck! I used the watercolor pencils to color in the details! I like the pencils because they are very pigmented and work well as a pencil or as a watercolor. It’s super easy to use!
Hope you have a fun summer! Head over to see what Anne and Cheryl have for you!
May Day is here! May always reminds me of full on floral blooms. Between May day in Hawaii where all the children in school have a May day program that celebrates all things floral in Hawaii (it’s more than that, but the flowers really take center stage). And mother’s day is full of flowers… May is really a blooming month! I love this Eastern Palace set because of all the intricate floral arrangements you can create with it. And they remind me of mandalas…which also remind me of flowers. I hope your May is full of flowers. Both in the literal and in the joy that life brings. I love that April is here. For me, it’s a signal that spring is here and in full swing… Back in KS, you couldn’t always count on March being full on spring… There could always be one last snow storm that snuck in…. On Maui too…this seemed to be the case for this year. Not the snow… Mind you .. we have rain. But these last couple of days of March, leading in to April are beautiful! Sunny Spring Time! Bring on flowers!
This flower and background image comes from the You’ve Got This stamp set and I love it in it’s simplicity. Easy to stamp but also is a striking image. I used the simple black outline here but it would also be fun to color with our stampin’ blends…
I loved it so much I also decided to make it the cover of the 2018 calendar…

Happy March! Can’t believe it is nearly spring break. As a teacher, every month has it’s highlight and for March, it’s most definitely spring break.
So. The name of this stamp set is Ready to Pop. And it has this awesome little border stamp that works so perfect here. And the little punch (sorry, it’s retired) adds just the right flowers for some sweet sprintime blooms. The paper is blushing bride and the ink is pear pizzazz.
Thanks for stopping by today! Head on over to see what Anne and Cheryl have for you!
February is always a fun month for me… a return to a normal routine after the holidays and the anticipation of the summer (as a school teacher, February always is an encouragement…that I may actually survive until the end of the school year). And, I’ve always enjoyed Valentines from a crafting standpoint. There’s no pressure around the holiday like Christmas brings, and it’s opportunity to do something cute, simple and fun!
This February is no exception. The 2017 Occasions catalog had this stamp set, Yummy in my Tummy and the minute I saw it I KNEW this lovable beast needed to be in my calendar. (Sorry, the set is now retired… I know, so sad)
Such a super simple, easy image. And you can color, or no need… And, he’s just a little friendly smile to see as you change the months on the calendar.
Hope you enjoy your February! Head on over to see what Anne and Cheryl have for you today!
I’m excited to have this day off and to be visiting my bff and stamping in her stamp studio! We are playing with some of the new occasions product and officially decided that today is ‘learn how to use brusho day’.
After a few YouTube videos here is what we came up with:
First step is to stamp and clear emboss the image. And watercolor paper is a must. After the image is heat embossed, use the aqua painter to wet the paper. Then sprinkle a few granules of your preferred brusho color (I used the blue, green, and yellow). Then, use the aqua painter to blend and spread the color how you want. Blot off any excess color with a paper towel and there you go!
I love how simple this is! Added a few rhinestones cause it is a peacock, you know…
Here’s a close up:
Happy New Year!
Happy New Calendar! One of my favorite things about the new year is it’s a fresh new everything. And as I’m currently in the process of making the house fresh and new (not ACTUALLY…. But you know, the customary and impulsive cleaning and organizing that a new year brings) I’m excited to show you the new 2018 easel calendar!
I really do enjoy making these calendars. Here is the January edition for you today:
These adorable lanterns come from the Color Me Happy stamp set. I got lots of practice with the new Stampin’ Blends markers (the alcohol based markers that replaced the Blendabilities). I am SO happy to be able to have these markers again. They make coloring so much more fun. I also dabbed a bit of Wink of Stella glimmer on each of them… Cause glitter makes everything much more festive. Hard to see… But this photo makes it a little better:
And as in years past, Anne and Cheryl will be joining me again for a little 2018 calendar tour! So you will be able to see three different takes on each month! Hope you enjoy! Click the links to see what Anne and Cheryl made for you!
And… For you calendar DIYers… Anne has made a Pinterest board for everyone to post the calendars we all make. Send me your Pinterest user ID and we will add you to the board!
Happy 2018 to you!
