As I mentioned in March, Hawaii has a tradition of celebrating Girls’ Day and Boys’ Day. Well, March was for the girls. And MAY is for the boys! May 5 to be exact. And, the tradition is to fly a flag off the porch that has the carp on it. One for each male member in the family. So…
Here is our BOYS’ Day FLAG! (I technically need 3 flags for my family, but we have to pretend here). This cute little fish comes from the Jar of Love stamp set. (A set that has SO MANY possibilities. You most definitely need it).

Hello! I am publishing this post to let you know I added a page to my blog (up at the top where it says Home, About, Hannie Joy’s Pitty Paste or click HERE!) Some of you already know I’ve been making deodorant for a while! Started making it for my husband. And, it has been so fabulous I’ve been making it and selling! AND, I’m in a couple shops on Maui!! (go check out Sunkissed Wahine in Kihei). Anyway, Several people have been wanting to order so I made a page here to make it easier to order.
I am also posting because I got new tubes and I really like them so I wanna show them off (hee hee….).
Everything is all natural and I can pronounce every ingredient. Which is one reason why I really like this stuff too. And, my husband doesn’t stink. It’s the main reason why I like this deodorant. 🙂
All made on Maui in my kitchen in Waikapu.
I am also wanting to announce the upcoming Mother’s Day craft sale that will occur on my STREET! Ulu Kanu! (These deodorants will be available there too!!)
I don’t know why, but this set reminds me of the “April Showers Bring May Flowers” little rhyme. It doesn’t make any sense at all, cause there are NO SHOWERS here, but still. Maybe all the blue. No idea. But I love it.
I LOVE this Swirly Bird stamp set. So many ways to do t hings with this. You can use the flower images as nice backgroud fillers or you can use them as centerpieces in the design. I love the different blues. Soft sky and pool party give the different blue variations. And, of course Daffodil adds the pop of stand-out color. Perfect for spring time.

I may have just done something I have NEVER done before… Used a stamp NOT from Stampin’ Up! (GASP). Before you go calling the authorities, hear me out… let me plead my case.
Here in Hawaii we celebrate a holiday called Girls’ Day (On March 3–which also happens to be the birthday of my oldest son…) And, Girls’ Day is a big deal here. And, it is traditionally celebrated by displaying Japanese Dolls, but I didn’t have any stamps like that, so I chose the cherry blossom. Cause that’s the only other stamp that I had that was remotely close… (When, you see my post for May, celebrating Boys’ Day, you will understand what compelled me to try to do something for the girls… you know, equal treatment…) 🙂
I do love this cherry blossom stamp. It is feminine, gorgeous, and a perfect way to usher in spring and the newness that spring brings. And, I used little dollops of the wink of stella to make it shimmer just a bit (ALL the paper–pink pirouette and whisper white– and ink –soft suede and pink pirouette) are from Stampin’ Up… so I haven’t completely disowned my upbringing…

Happy February! As we turn the page to this month, love is in the air!! I love these little lady bugs. So cute. Reminds me of those I love in my own life…
This month is so simple, but cute. And, it was super fast to make… The stamp set is Love You Lots (obviously….) and did a quick marker color and that is that! This would also make a cute little 3×3 card too for your valentine!

2017 is HERE!! Happy New Year! And a new year means a NEW CALENDAR! I am so excited. These calendars are so much fun to create. I had a blast for this year…
I love that SU did a celebratory New Year’s stamp set… called “It’s a Celebration”. (If you love it you have to act FAST, cause it’s only available till Jan 2). It’s perfect for Hawaiian New Year’s Celebration because they are some of the most festive celebrations that I have EVER witnessed…lots and LOTS of fireworks).
The way the images work, you can layer the ‘sparks’ on each other to ‘build the blast’! And, I love that it can be either a sparkler or an aerial firework.
You are in for a real treat this year! Anne (mauistamper.com) and Cheryl (createwithcheryl.me) are joining me again this year and we all will have our own spin on the calendar page for each month. JOIN US! Check back on the first of every month to see the next installment for our calendar series! Better yet, follow the blogs and you will get an email everytime we post
