Easter Basket Making….

Standard

Well, today I needed to get Isaac’s Easter Basket together.  I was good in that I planned ahead and bought all the insides BEFORE Walmart ran out of stuff (as typical of their holiday merchandise collections–on Maui).  And, I’m getting better at this whole mom thing… for Isaac’s first Christmas, I hid all his presents in his closet (the only closet in our house with the most space) and totally forgot and put him to bed on Christmas Eve…  So, he didn’t get his gifts from us for a couple of days.  So now, on his 3rd Easter, I’m getting around to his FIRST Easter basket (from us…nana and papa beat us to it a couple of years ago).  So, I needed a tag.

Bronwyn showed me these cute little bunnies and wanted to borrow the punches to make some, and oh my…I was surprised to learn that I didn’t have that little oval that makes the butt.  So I promptly ordered it…  So, I used the  small oval punch, the 3/4″ circle punch, and the small petals from the Blossom Petals Builder punch from the ears.  Those blue buttons are the cute tiny buttons in the Spring Mini from the Twitterpated suite (with a little pearl).  And, that Happy Easter stamp, from the Delightful Dozen stamp set (which I didn’t realize I had until this week…).  The blue taffeta ribbon tops it off!  And, I used crumb cake for the card base and bunny… whisper white for the background.  The white tag was made with the scallop rectangle clearlits die.  And, at $7.50 it is the PERFECT tag-sized die.  It’s lots of fun.

So, this is what the finished basket looked like:

Another ‘mother of the year’ moment is the fact he really didn’t get candy.  (boo hoo). He got trail mix.  He loves peanuts and I figure I need to get away with it as long as I can.  He also got a bottle of bath bubbles, a tube of colored bath fizz bombs, and a set of bathtub markers…. notice a theme?  Here’s why:

The kid is a dirt magnet. This photo doesn’t do it justice, but he has dried on yogurt all over both arms and in his hair (it’s his hair-product of choice, provides that spiky lift) and chocolate on his fingers…(Easter candy from his aunty) and every time he gets OUT of the chair, Lucy isn’t far behind because whatever he was eating (today was edamame and macaroni and cheese) falls off his butt…

So…. on that note…
